Lookin At Lucky Out Of Belmont

Tuesday, 18th May 2010

In US racing news Lookin At Lucky, last weekend's winner of the Gr1 Preakness Stakes (2nd leg of the US 3YO Triple Crown) has been declared a non-starter for the 3rd and final leg, the Gr1 Belmont Stakes. According to bloodhorse.com, Lookin At Lucky's  "trainer Bob Baffert said the colt would be given a break". Baffert noted: "It's a tough, long race. When I ran my other horses for the Triple Crown, I had to give them a break. It's tough on them. I want to keep this horse around." Baffert's declaration follows the decision of Todd Pletcher not to contest the Belmont with Super Saver who won the Gr1 Kentucky Derby on May 1.
