1st Win In France For Azamour's Most Expensive Colt

Monday, 24th May 2010

The most expensive progeny of 4-time Gr1-winner Azamour (Night Shift-Asmara, by Lear Fan) sold at public auction "broke his maiden at the 4th attempt" when 3YO colt Platinum (Azamour-Dazzling Park, by Park Express) scored over 2000m at Chantilly for trainer Andre Fabre, reported racingpost.com. Platinum was purchased for 400,000 guineas (A$700,000) by John Ferguson on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed at the 2008 UK Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. His dam Dazzling Park was champion 3YO filly in Europe in 1999 (after finishing 2nd in the Gr1 Irish Champion Stakes). Azamour stands at his owner-breeder The Aga Khan's Gilltown Stud in County Kildare in Ireland for €15,000 (A$22,500).
