Monday, 24th May 2010

Former Darley shuttler Cape Cross (Green Desert-Park Appeal, by Ahonoora) added a French black-type success when his Irish-bred colt Colonial (Cape Cross-Elizabeth Bay, by Mr Prospector) scored a half-length victory in the €55,000 (A$83,000) Listed Prix De Pontarme (1600m) for 3YO colts & geldings at Maisons-Laffitte. Colonial (ridden by Maxime Guyon for trainer Andre Fabre) defeated fellow colts Persiste Et Signe (With Approval-Mahima, by Linamix) & Ramble On (Tobougg-Street Money, by Mark Of Esteem). Colonial took her record to 3 wins (also including 2009's Listed Prix Roland de Chambure over 1400m at Longchamp) & a placing from 5 starts for €74,300 (A$111,000) earnings.
