Galileo Adds French Gr2

On the same Paris card overnight, former Coolmore shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) added a French group success when Godolphin's Irish-bred 4YO entire Kite Wood (Galileo-Kite Mark, by Mark Of Esteem) made his 2010 seasonal debut with a 0.75-length victory in the €130,000 (A$195,000) Gr2 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier (3100m) for 4YOs & up at Longchamp. Kite Wood 9riden by Frankie Dettori for trainer Saeed Bin Suroor) defeated 8YO gelding Kasbah Bliss (Kahyasi-Marital Bliss, by Double Bed) & 5YO entire Blek (Chichicastenango-Exande, by Exit To Nowhere). Kite Wood was a 270,000 guineas (A$473,000) yearling at the 2007 UK Tattersalls October Sale & last season he also won the UK Gr3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes (13.5 furlongs) at Newbury & Listed Bahrain Trophy (13 furlong) at Newmarket, as well as placing in the UK Gr1 St Leger Stakes (14 furlongs) at Doncaster; & in 2008 he won the UK Gr3 Autumn Stakes (8 furlongs) at Ascot.
