Scouting Wide Wins McKell Cup

NZ Cambridge Stud's multiple champion sire Zabeel (Sir Tristram-Lady Giselle, by Nureyev) added a black-type success when 5YO gelding Scouting Wide (Zabeel-Gardd, by Sheikh Albadou) scored a 0.75-length victory in the $100,000 Listed W.J.McKell Cup (2400m) at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney. Scouting Wide (ridden by Tye Angland for trainer Tim Martin) defeated 6YO geldings Two Towers (Mithrandir-Harvest Rain, by Centaine) & Bellagio Wynn (Dehere-Hunting Gal, by Huntingdale). Scouting Wide (a $200,000 yearling at the 2006 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) took his record to 4 wins (also including 2009's Listed Christmas Cup over 2400m at Rosehill) & 8 placings from 15 starts for $255,280 earnings.
