Wealth Princess Wins Glenlogan Park Stakes

Monday, 24th May 2010

Ill-fated Gr1-winning NZ Grangewilliam Stud stallion San Luis (Flying Spur-Star Style Girl, by Without Fear) added a group success when equal-favourite 4YO mare Wealth Princess (San Luis-Wealth Star, by Senor Pete) scored a 0.75-length victory in the $150,000 Gr3 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) for fillies & mares at Doomben. Wealth Princess (ridden by Michael Walker for trainer Brent Gillovic) defeated equal-favourite 3YO filly Jerezana (Lonhro-Saddler's Silk, by Barathea) & fellow 4YO mare Flying Tessie (Testa Rossa-Paris Plaits, by Flying Spur). Wealth Princess (sold in April to Sean Buckley of Ultra Thoroughbreds for an undisclosed sum) took her record to 6 wins (also including 2009's NZ Listed Newmarket Handicap over 1200m at Ellerslie) & 2 runners-up (including February's NZ Gr1 Waikato Draught Sprint over 1400m at Te Rapa) from 9 starts for $187,929 earnings.
