Danetime Adds UK Black-Type

Tuesday, 25th May 2010

In the UK overnight, ill-fated former Western Australia-based Alwyn Park Stud shuttler Danetime (Danehill-Allegheny River, by Lear Fan) added a black-type success when Irish-bred 4YO entire Triple Aspect (Danetime-Wicken Wonder, by Distant Relative) returned from a 7-months spell to score 1 0.75-length victory in the £40,000 (A$69,000) Listed Leisure Stakes (6 furlongs) at Windsor. Favourite Triple Aspect (ridden by Liam Jones for trainer William Haggas) defeated US-bred 5YO entire Sir Gerry (Carson City-Incredulous, by Indian Ridge) & 6YO entire Edge Closer (Bold Edge-Blue Goddess, by Blues Traveller). Triple Aspect was a 55,000 guineas (A$96,000) yearling at the 2007 UK Tattersalls October Sale & later a £43,000 (A$74,000) 2YO at the 2008 Doncaster April Sale. Last season he won the French Gr3 Prix D'Arenberg (1100m) at Chantilly & UK Listed Scurry Stakes (5 furlongs) at Sandown Park, as well as placing in each of the UK's Gr3 Bengough Stakes (6 furlongs) at Ascot, Gr3 Sandown Sprint Stakes (5 furlongs) at Sandown Park & Listed Carnarvon Stakes (6 furlongs) at Newbury. And in 2008 he also won France's Gr3 Prix D'Arenberg (1100m) at Chantilly.
