Magic Millions Weanlings Day-1: Average Up 50.5%

Thursday, 27th May 2010

Overall 209 lots sold for $7,743,500 which was up a massive 93% on last year (when 163 lots sold for $4,012,000). The average of $37,050 was up 50.5% (last year $24,613) & the clearance rate was 89% (last year 80%). Magic Millions managing director David Chester commented: "To have the clearance rate at almost 90% in this climate is pretty extraordinary. So many of the weanlings on offer exceeded their reserves by large amounts. We've put a lot of time & effort in attracting a quality catalogue & then getting as many potential buyers to come along & compete for them."
