Monday, 31st May 2010

In Japan yesterday, former Darley shuttler King's Best (Kingmambo-Allegretta, by Lombard) added a Gr1 triumph when his colt Eishin Flash (King's Best-Moon Lady, by Platani) scored by a neck in the ¥317 million (A$4.216m) Gr1 Tokyo Yushun-Japanese Derby (2400m) for 3YOs at Fuchu in Tokyo. Eishin Flash (ridden by Hiroyuki Uchida for trainer Hideaki Fujiwara) defeated fellow colts Rose Kingdom (King Kamehameha-Rosebud, by Sunday Silence) & favourite Victoire Pisa (Neo Universe-Whitewater Affair, by Machiavellian); front-running colt Aliseo (ridden by Australian jockey Craig Williams for trainer Noriyuki Hori) finished 13th in the 17-horse field. Eishin Flash now has 4 wins (also including January's Gr3 Keisei Hai over 2000m at Nakayama, plus placed in April's Gr1 Satsuki Sho-2000 Guineas over 2000m at Nakayama) from 7 starts for ¥273,848,000 (A$3.642m) earnings.
