Regal Classic Adds US Black-Type

Former Muranna Stud shuttler Regal Classic (Vice Regent-No Class, by Nodouble) added a US black-type success when 5YO gelding Mr Windjammer (Regal Classic-Royal Relic, by Colonial Affair) scored by a neck in the US$50,000 Listed George Barker Handicap (6 furlongs) at Finger Lakes in New York to take this race for the 2nd successive year. Mr Windjammer (ridden by Gabriel Suarez for trainer Jonathan Buckley) defeated fellow 5YO geldings Pro's Pal (Distinctive Pro-Sir Harry's Waltz, by Sir Harry Lewis) & Too Tough Pete (Good And Tough-New Britski, by Polish Numbers). Mr Windjammer (a US$5,000 yearling at the 2006 New York Breeders September Sale) took his record to 9 wins (also including 2009's Listed Leon Reed Memorial Handicap over 6 furlongs at Finger Lakes & Listed George Barker Handicap over 6 furlongs at Finger Lakes, plus 2008's Listed Ontario County Stakes over 6 furlongs at Finger Lakes) & 8 placings (including 2009's Listed New York Stallion Thunder Rumble Stakes over 7 furlongs at Aqueduct) from 26 starts for US$241,612 earnings.
