1st Stakes-Winner For Gr1-Winning Shuttler Ad Valorem

In Europe overnight, dual Gr1-winning Irish-based 8YO freshman sire & former Woodlands Stud & now Darley southern hemisphere shuttler Ad Valorem (Danzig-Classy Women, by Relaunch) recorded his 1st stakes-winner when Irish-bred juvenile daughter Samaden (Ad Valorem-Salpiglossis, by Monsun) gained the decision in a 3-way photo-finish to Italy's €61,600 (A$92,000) Listed Premio Alessandro Perrone (1100m) for 2YO fillies at the Capannelle in Rome. Samaden (ridden by S.Sulas for trainer Marco Mercalli) scored by a head from fellow Irish-bred Malikayah (Fasliyev-Trombe, by Bering) with a further short-head to another Irish-bred Oeuvre D'Art (Marju-Midefix, by Night Shift). Samaden's sire Ad Valorem stands for €5,000 (A$7,500) at Coolmore Stud in Ireland's County Tipperary & has 101 2YOs in his 1st Northern Hemisphere crop; his 1st southern hemisphere runners are due to hit the track later this year & he is standing the upcoming Australian breeding season at Darley Kelvinside for $11,000.
