Absolute Joy Aims At Australian History

Friday, 4th June 2010

Owner-breeder John Singleton's 3YO filly Absolute Joy (Zabeel-Joie Denise, by Danehill) will create Australian breeding history if she wins tomorrow's Gr1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) at Eagle Farm in Brisbane. Absolute Joy "is poised to become a 3rd-generation winner of the Gr1 Queensland Oaks - a feat unequalled in Australian breeding history" noted The Daily Telegraph. The filly's 5-time Gr1-winning grand-dam Denise's Joy won the Queensland Oaks in 1976; & her daughter Joie Denise won the 1995 Queensland Oaks (before also producing 2002 Gr1 AJC Australian Oaks winner Sunday Joy & 4-time Gr1-winner Tuesday Joy).
