1st Stakes-Winner For US Freshman Sire Giacomo

US 2005 Gr1 Kentucky Derby winner & now 8YO freshman sire Giacomo (Holy Bull-Set Them Free, by Stop The Music) recorded his 1st stakes-winner (& 3rd-placing) when unbeaten juvenile daughter Lady Giacomo (Giacome-Lady Gallapiat, by Gallapiat) scored a 1.75-lengths victory in the US$66,000 Listed TTA Sales Futurity Female (5 furlongs) for 2YO fillies at Lone Star Park in Texas. Front-running Lady Lady Giacomo (ridden by Martin Escobar for trainer Allen Milligan) defeated Fastation (Valid Expectations-Fast Fingers, by Nepal) & Blushing Sis (Giacomo-Three City Sisters, by Carson City). Lady Giacomo (a US$7,500 yearling at the 2009 Texas August Sale) now has 3 wins from 3 starts for US$61,734 earnings. Her sire Giacomo (who stands for US$5,000 at Adena Springs Kentucky) is a half-brother to multiple Gr1-winner Tiago. Giacomo also finished 3rd in the 2005 Gr1 Preakness Stakes & 7th in the Gr1 Belmont Stakes to conclude his 3YO campaign; he returned as a 4YO to win the Gr2 San Diego Handicap & retired with 3 wins & 7 placings from 16 starts for US$2,537,316 earnings.
