Brave Tin Soldier To Stand At South African Stud

US Gr3-winning 6YO stallion Brave Tin Soldier (Storm Cat-Bless, by Mr Prospector) "has been snapped up for stud duty by Summerhill Stud in South Africa as a replacement for Stronghold (who died in March)" reported racingpost.com. Brave Tin Soldier's dam Bless (a sister to former Coolmore shuttler & Gr1 Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus) was purchased as a broodmare prospect for US$4 million & is from the family of US Gr1 Preakness Stakes winner Pine Bluff. On the track, Brave Tin Soldier recorded 3 wins (including 2009's US Gr3 Cliff Hanger Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Meadowlands & 2006's Irish Listed Blenheim Stakes over 6 furlongs at The Curragh) & 5 placings (including 2009's US Gr3 Knickerbocker Handicap over 9 furlongs at Belmont Park) from 23 starts £194,494 (A$336,000) earnings.
