Catapulted Wins QTC Cup

Deceased Gr1 Golden Slipper-winning Yarraman Park sire Catbird (Danehill-Fitting, by Marscay) added a group success when favoured 4YO gelding Catapulted (Catbird-Siren Miss, by Umatilla) notched his 2nd successive stakes-win with a 0.75-length victory in the $150,000 Gr2 QTC Cup (1300m) at Eagle Farm. Catapulted (ridden by Damien Oliver for trainer Mark Kavanagh) survived a protest from the runner-up to defeat fellow 4YO gelding Border Rebel (Johannesburg-Frontier, by Flying Spur) & 5YO gelding Ego's Dare (Hussonet-Almond Essence, by Seattle Slew). Catapulted (a $90,000 yearling consigned by Mill Park at the 2007 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale) now has 9 wins (also including last start's Listed Henry Bucks Straight Six over 1200m at Flemington on May 15 & April's Gr3 evright.com Stakes over 1100m at Morphettville, plus 2009's Listed Marion Stakes over 1200m at Morphettville) & 2 runners-up (including May's Gr1 The Goodwood over 1200m at Morphettville) from 14 starts for $449,225 earnings.
