Triple Honour Wins Eagle Farm Cup

Former Widden Stud & Hollylodge Thoroughbreds stallion Honours List (Danehill-Gold Script, by Script Ohio) added a group success when favoured 5YO gelding Triple Honour (Honours List-Myrrh, by Nassipour) scored a 1.75-lengths victory in the $250,000 weight-for-age Gr2 Eagle Farm Cup (2200m) in Brisbane. Triple Honour (ridden by Larry Cassidy for trainer Chris Waller) defeated Raffaello (Encosta De Lago-Sweet Delight, by Rancho Ruler) & Newport (Encosta De Lago-Sibelienne, by Nishapour). Triple Honour (a $50,000 yearling at the 2006 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney) took his record to 7 wins (also including 2008's Gr1 Doncaster Handicap over 1600m at Randwick & Gr2 Premiere Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill) & 7 placings (including last start's Gr1 Doomben Cup over 2020m at Doomben on May 22, April's Gr1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes over 2000m at Randwick & March's Gr3 Liverpool City Cup over 1300m at Warwick Farm, plus 2009's Gr2 Theo Marks Stakes over 1400m at Rosehill & Gr2 Chelmsford Stakes over 1600m at Randwick, as well as 2008's Gr2 Premiere Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill & Gr2 Chelmsford Stakes over 1600) at Randwick) from 32 starts for $1,982,460 earnings.
