Aushorse-Inglis-Magic Millions Back Singapore 2YO Series

Tuesday, 8th June 2010

The Singapore Turf Club announced "a series of 2YO races will be introduced next year, as an incentive for horse owners to buy an Australian-bred youngster". Backed by 3 Australian companies - Aushorse (which represents the breeders of Australia) & leading sales companies Inglis & Magic Millions - 2YOs in Singapore will next year be running in a series of races worth a total of S$1 million (A$800,000). The 7-race series will begin in February & continue to the end of April, culminating in the S$400,000 (A$320,000) Gr2 Aushorse Singapore Golden Horseshoe (1200m) in mid-May. Inglis, Magic Millions & Aushorse will each sponsor 2 of the 6 lead-up races (each with a bonus attached); these will be open to all 2YOs trained in Singapore, but only Australian-sired horses offered for sale through 1 of the 2 auction houses will be in contention for the bonus on offer. If a non-Australian sired or sold horse wins any of the 6 lead-up races, the bonus will then jackpot to the Aushorse Singapore Golden Horseshoe. Should a non-Australian sired or sold horse win the Aushorse Singapore Golden Horseshoe, the remaining bonus money will be paid to the connections of the Australian-sired & sold horse that won the greatest prize-money during the series.
