Former VRC Chairman Peter Armytage Dies Aged 86

Former Victoria Racing Club chairman Peter Armytage died yesterday aged 86, reported The Herald-Sun. Armytage (a prisoner of war during World War II) was VRC chairman from 1986-91 & "was also instrumental in buying radio station 3UZ". His great uncle Harold served on the VRC committee for 40 years, his father Charles was president of Hamilton Racing Club for 25 years & he was chairman at Dunkeld & Hamilton & chairman of the South Western District Racing Association.
