Cape Cross Adds Irish Black-Type

In Ireland overnight, former Darley shuttler Cape Cross (Green Desert-Park Appeal, by Ahonoora) added a black-type success when 4YO entire Recharge (Cape Cross-Rebelline, by Robellino) scored a 1-length victory in the €42,500 (A$62,000) Listed Glencairn Stakes (8 furlongs) for 4YOs & up at Leopardstown. Recharge (ridden by Chris Hayes for trainer Kevin Prendergast) defeated fellow 4YO entire Croisultan (Refuse To Bend-Zoudie, by Ezzoud) US-bred 6YO gelding Finicius (Officer-Glorious Linda, by Le Glorieux). Previously this year Recharge finished runner-up in both last month's Irish Gr1 Tattersalls Gold Cup (10,5 furlongs at The Curragh & Gr3 Mooresbridge Stakes (10 furlongs) at the Curragh, as well as April's Listed Heritage Stakes (8 furlongs) at Leopardstown. And last year he won Ireland's Gr3 2000 Guineas Trial Stakes (8 furlongs) at Leopardstown.
