Blame (ridden by Garrett Gomez for trainer Albert Stall) defeated favoured front-running 5YO entire Battle Plan (Empire Maker-Flanders, by Seeking The Gold) & fellow 4YO entire General Quarters (Sky Mesa-Ecology, by Unbridled's Song). Blame (who was sidelined for nearly 8 months last year with a severe abscess on his hind foot) now has 7 wins (also including last start's Gr3 William Donald Schaefer Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Pimlico on May 15, plus 2009's Gr2 Clark Handicap over 9 furlongs at Churchill Downs, Gr2 Fayette Stakes over 9 furlongs at Keeneland & Listed Curlin Stakes over 9 furlongs at Saratoga) & 3 runners-up (including 2009's Gr2 Super Derby over 9 furlongs at Louisiana Downs) from 10 starts for US$1,068,214 earnings.
