Grass Wonder Adds Japan Gr3

In Japan, former Eliza Park Stud shuttler Grass Wonder (Silver Hawk-Ameriflora, by Danzig) added a group success when 4YO entire Seiun Wonder (Grass Wonder-Seiun Kunoichi, by Sunday Silence) prevailed in a 3-way photo-finish to the ¥78.23 million (A$997,000) Gr3 Epsom Cup (1800m) at Tokyo. Seiun Wonder (ridden by Yuichi Fukunaga for trainer Masazo Ryoke) scored by a nose from 5YO entire Silport (White Muzzle-Speranza, by Sunday Silence) with a further nose to 7YO entire Captain Vega (Sunday Silence-Vega, by Tony Bin). Last year Seiun Wonder (who won the Japan Racing Association award as 2008's Top 2YO Male) placed in each of 2009's Satsuki Sho-2000 Guineas (2000m) at Nakayama, Kikuka Sho-St Leger (3000m) at Kyoto & Kobe Shimbun Hai (2400m) at Hanshin; & in 2008 he won both the Ashai Hai Futurity Satkes (1600m) at Nakayama & Nisai Stakes (1600m) at Niigata. Overall he now has 4 wins & 4 placings from 12 starts.
