Monday, 14th June 2010

In France, multiple Gr1-winning former Darley shuttler Refuse To Bend (Sadler's Wells-Market Slide, by Gulch) added a Gr1 triumph when The Aga Khan's unbeaten filly Sarafina (Refuse To Bend-Sanariya, by Darshaan) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the €800,000 (A$1.16m) Gr1 Prix de Diane Hermes-French Oaks (2100m) for 3YO fillies at Chantilly. Sarafina (ridden by Christophe-Patrice Lemaire for trainer Alain De Royer-Dupre) defeated stable-mate Rosanara (Sinndar-Rosawa, by Linamix) & UK-bred Sandbar (Oasis Dream-Shifting Sands, by Hernando). Sarafina now has 3 wins (also including last start's Gr1 Prix Saint-Alary over 2000m at Longchamp on May 23) from 3 starts for €611,970 (A$877,000) earnings.
