US 4-time Gr1-winning 7YO entire Kip Deville (Kipling-Klondike Kaytie, by Encino) was euthanased at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Kentucky "after a lengthy battle with laminitis & several bouts of colic," reported bloodhorse.com. Oklahoma-bred Kip Deville notched 12 wins (including 2009's Gr1 Gulfstream Park Turf Stakes over 9 furlongs, plus 2008's Gr1 Maker's Mark Mile over 8 furlongs at Keeneland & Gr3 Poker Handicap over 8 furlongs at Belmont Park, as well as 2007's Gr1 Breeders' Cup Mile over 8 furlongs at Monmouth Park, Gr1 Frank Kilroe Mile over 8 furlongs at Santa Anita & Gr2 Maker's Mark Mile over 8 furlongs at Keeneland, in addition to 2006's Gr3 Sir Beaufort Stakes over 8 furlongs at Santa Anita, Listed Bryan Station Stakes over 8 furlongs at Keeneland, Listed Grand Prairie Turf Challenge over 8 furlongs at Lone Star Park & Listed Texas Heritage Stakes over 8 furlongs at Sam Houston Park) & 6 placings (including 2008's Gr1 Breeders' Cup Mile over 8 furlongs at Santa Anita, plus 2007's Canadian Gr1 Woodbine Mile Stakes over 8 furlongs & Gr3 Oceanport Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Monmouth Park, as well as 2006's Listed Colonial Turf Cup Stakes over 9.5 furlongs at Colonial Downs) from 30 starts for US$3,325,489 earnings.
