Elzaam (ridden by Richard Hills for trainer Michael Jarvis) was pipped by favoured US-bred colt Strong Suit (Rahy-Helwa, by Silver Hawk) with another US-bred colt Roayh (Speightstown-Most Remarkable, by Marquetry) in 3rd-placing. Elzaam was bred by Kia Ora Stud in Australia (to northern hemisphere time) in January 2008 & sold at the 2009 Arqana August Sale to Shadwell France for €280,000 (A$406,000). Elzaam is the 1st member of Redoute's Choice's initial northern time crop to race, as well as his 1st representative to win in Europe & his 1st European Group performer.
