Friday, 18th June 2010

In Ireland overnight, former NZ Glenmorgan Stud shuttler Rossini (Miswaki-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a black-type success (& 7th individual stakes-winner) when 6YO mare Rose Hip (Rossini-Rose Tint, by Salse) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the Listed Nijinsky Stakes (9 furlongs) at Leopardstown. Rose Hip (ridden by Chris Hayes for trainer Joseph Murphy) defeated favoured US-bred 3YO colt Shintoh (Giant's Causeway-Hollywood Wildcat, by Kris S) & fellow 3YO colt Sebastian Flyte (Observatory-Aravonian, by Night Shift). Rose Hip was a €10,000 (A$14,500) yearling & took her record to 5 wins & 8 placings from 27 starts.
