Monday, 21st June 2010

Also in the UK, former Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a Gr1 triumph (& 13th Gr1-winner world-wide) when Ballydoyle's Irish-bred daughter Lillie Langtry (Danehill Dancer-Hoity Toity, by Darshaan) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the £250,000 (A$433,000) Gr1 Coronation Stakes (8 furlongs) for 3YO fillies at Royal Ascot. Lillie Langtry (ridden by Johnny Murtagh for trainer Aidan O'Brien) defeated fellow Irish-breds Gile Ne Greine (Galileo-Scribonia, by Danehill) & Jacqueline Quest (Rock Of Gibraltar-Coquette Rouge, by Croco Rouge). Lillie Langtry was a 70,000 guineas (A$126,000) weanling at the 2007 UK Tattersalls December Sale & subsequently a 230,000 guineas (A$414,000) yearling at the 2008 Tattersalls October Sale. Overall she now boasts 4 wins (also including 2009's Irish Gr2 Debutante Stakes over 7 furlongs at Leopardstown & Irish Gr3 Fillies Sprint Stakes over 6 furlongs at Naas) & 3 placings (including 2009's Irish Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes over 7 furlongs at The Curragh & UK Gr3 Albany Stakes over 6 furlongs at Royal Ascot) from 9 starts for £768,781 (A$1,115,000) earnings.
