Mighty Rossa Wins Belmont Guineas

Monday, 21st June 2010

Vinery Stud's 6-time Gr1-winning stallion Testa Rossa (Perugino-Bo Dapper, by Sir Dapper) added a black-type success (& 27th individual stakes-winner) when gelded son Mighty Rossa (Testa Rossa-No Mystery, by El Qahira) led all-the-way to score a half-length victory in the $75,000 Listed Belmont Guineas (1600m) for 3YOs at Belmont Park in Perth. Mighty Rossa (ridden by Shaun O'Donnell for trainer Michael Grant) defeated the filly Tranquility (Redoute's Choice-Creatrix, by Umatilla) & the colt Bridgestone (Pentire-Golden Dawn, by Gold Brose). Mighty Rossa (a $55,000 yearling consigned by Yallambee Stud at the 2008 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale) now has 1 win & 7 placings from 9 starts for $63,685 earnings.
