Broadfield Stud Sold To Mystery Irish Buyer
Also in Ireland overnight, Broadfield & Owenstown Stud near Naas (which was owned by Indian Ridge's breeder Averil Whitehead until her death in February) "is likely to remain in Irish ownership after changing hands at auction" reported racingpost.com. The 147-acre stud initially failed to sell when bidding stopped at €2.75 million (A$4 million) during the auction at Lawlors Hotel in Naas. However Andrew Nolan from auctioneer Goffs Country later confirmed it had been sold "in a private transaction at its market value to an undisclosed Irish-based client".
