Devil May Care Wins US Gr1 Mother Goose Stakes

In the USA, star filly Devil May Care (Malibu Moon-Kelli's Ransom, by Red Ransom) scored by 1.25-lengths in the US$250,000 Gr1 Mother Goose Stakes (8.5 furlongs) for 3YO fillies at Belmont Park in New York. Having her 1st start since finishing 10th in the Gr1 Kentucky Derby against the males, Devil May Care (ridden by John Velazquez for trainer Todd Pletcher) defeated fellow sophomore fillies Connie And Michael (Roman Ruler-Detect, by Devil's Bag) & Biofuel (Stormin Fever-Ms Cornstalk, by Indian Charlie). Winner of the Gr1 Frizette Stakes as a juvenile, Devil May Care was a US$110,000 yearling at the 2008 Keeneland September Sale. Now the winner of 4 of her 7 starts, Devil May Care took her earnings to US$549,000.
