Inglis Weanlings Average Up 38%

Monday, 28th June 2010

Following 2 days of sales at the Inglis Select Weanling sessions, the average of $29,521 was up 38% on last year's session. The 238 weanlings brought an aggregate $7.026 million, more than doubling the 2009 gross of $3.5 million. The clearance rate was a healthy 86%. Inglis director Jonathan D'Arcy commented: "This was the third renewal of this sale and it is now firmly entrenched in this timeslot as a premium sale for weanlings and breeding stock. We extended the sale to three days due to outstanding support from vendors & it is very satisfying to see them duly rewarded. The New Zealand buying bench assembled here contributed greatly to the success of this sale & we wish them success with their purchases. We've had positive feedback from both buyers and vendors throughout the week which we will take on board to assist in growing this sale going forward."
