Monday, 28th June 2010

NZ Highview Stud's Australian-bred stallion Align (Night Shift-Super Trend, by Red Anchor) added a black-type success when 5YO mare Pennacchio (Align-Abenezra, by Rory's Jester) made it back-to-back stakes wins when scoring by 1.5 lengths in the $100,000 Listed Centenary Classic Mile (1600m) at Eagle Farm. Pennacchio (ridden by Dwayne Dunn for trainer Andrew Scott) defeated 4YO gelding Firebolt (Stravinsky-Woodsong, by Woodman) & 7YO gelding Secrets Untold (Sequalo-Untold, by Balmerniro). Pennacchio (a NZ$52,500 yearling at the 2006 NZ Bloodstock Select Sale) now has 8 wins (including this month's Listed Spear Chief Handicap over 1500m at Eagle Farm) & 3 placings (including 2009's NZ Listed Postponed Classic over 1400m at Hawera) from 16 starts for $179,976 earnings.
