Monday, 28th June 2010

In France overnight, deceased former Widden Stud shuttler Anabaa (Danzig-Balbonella, by Gay Mecene) added a Gr1 triumph when UK-bred 4YO mare Plumania (Anabaa-Featherquest, by Rainbow Quest) scrambled home by a nose in the €400,000 (A$580,000) Gr1 Grand Prix De Saint-Cloud (2400m) at Saint-Cloud. Plumania (ridden by Olivier Peslier for trainer Andre Fabre) defeated Irish-bred 7YO entire Youmzain (Sinndar-Sadima, by Sadler's Wells) & French-bred fellow 4YO mare Daryakana (Selkirk-Daryaba, by Night Shift). Plumania now has 3 wins (also including last start's Gr2 Saint-Cloud Prix Corrida over 2100m)  & 5 placings (also including 2009's Gr1 Longchamp Prix Vermeille over 2400m & Gr1 Chantilly Prix de Diane over 2100m & Gr2 Longchamp Prix de Royallieu over 2500m & Gr3 Deauville Prix de Psyche over 2000m & Gr3 Saint-Cloud Prix Penelope over 2100m) from 13 starts for €331,750 (A$481,000) earnings.
