RADB Hands Down Jockey Nikolic Findings 1
The headline-hogging case surrounding jockey Danny Nikolic came to a head yesterday when the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board fined him $3,000 yesterday morning as a result of the 5 charges he pleaded guilty to in the Racing Victoria stewards case relating to a number of rides from & including October 2009 to February 2010. The main charge Nikolic was found guilty of was "insulting and abusive behaviour" to stewards. This carried a penalty of $2,000. There were also 4 separate fines of $250 each imposed on Nikolic for "leaving the jockeys' room without permission in order to use his mobile phone".
