Red Ransom Adds Italy Black-Type

Deceased former Vinery Stud shuttler & in recent years permanently Australian-based stallion Red Ransom (Roberto-Arabia, by Damascus) added an Italian black-type success overnight when Irish-bred 5YO entire Ransom Hope (Red Ransom-Field Of Hope, by Selkirk) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the €61,600 (A$87,000) Listed Premio Nearco (1600m) at Capannelle. Ransom Hope (ridden by Mirco Demuro for trainer Luigi Riccardi) defeated fellow Irish-bred 5YO entire Rockhorse (Rock Of Gibraltar-Maelalong, by Maelstrom Lake) & US-bred 7YO entire Miles Gloriosus (Repriced-Treasure Coast, by Foolish Pleasure). Last year Ransom Hope also finished runner-up in the Listed Premio Del Giubileo (1600m) at San Siro.
