UK Sire Motivator "Back" In 2011 At 20% Fee Cut

Wednesday, 1st December 2010

England's Royal Studs-based former Gr1 English Derby-winning 8YO stallion Motivator (Montjeu-Out West, by Gone West) who was "side-lined from the breeding shed this season due to a hind leg tendon injury suffered in the autumn of 2009, will resume covering duties next year at a fee of £8,000 (A$12,800), down from his last advertised fee of £10,000 (A$16,000) in 2009" reported racingpost.com. Though Motivator "had a blank year in 2010, he should not lack representation on the racecourse & in the sale ring in the immediate future, having covered 130 mares in 2008 & 120 in the following year". Motivator's oldest progeny are 3YOs & he is the sire of 11 stakes-performers in 2010. On the track, Motivator won both the 2004 UK Gr1 Racing Post Trophy & 2005 Gr1 English Derby, as well as the Gr2 Dante Stakes & runner-up in both the UK Gr1 Eclipse Stakes & Gr1 Irish Champion Stakes.
