Andreas Suborics Plans Shock Comeback

Friday, 3rd December 2010

In Germany overnight Andreas Suborics, the 39-year-old Austrian jockey who has been based in Germany for the last decade, "announced his return to the saddle" reported racingpost.com. Suborics announced in August that he was retiring from the saddle "on medical advice following head injuries suffered in an accident while riding work in Hong Kong in March". However there "has been significant improvement in his condition, to the extent where he expects to be back in the saddle by the end of the month". Suborics (winner of over 1,500 races) confirmed: "Doctors have given me the green light to resume race riding & I hope to be back in the saddle within the next month. My main retainer will continue to be with Waldemar Hickst in Cologne, but I am hungry to ride more winners & am open to all offers."
