Tiznow's Sire Cee's Tizzy Pensioned At Harris Farm

Monday, 6th December 2010

US 23-year-old stallion Cee's Tizzy (sire of dual 2000-2001 Gr1 Breeders' Cup Classic winner, 2000 Horse-Of-The-Year & major sire Tiznow) has been pensioned from stallion duty at Harris Farms in California, reported bloodhorse.com. Farm manager Dave McGlothlin confirmed: "His fertility diminished over the last 2 years & this past year he only settled 3 mares. He's in excellent health & looks like he's 15. He's certainly willing to go to the breeding shed, but his fertility has dropped off." Cee's Tizzy (Relaunch-Tizly, by Lyphard) "has helped rejuvenate the Man o' War male line primarily through the exploits of Tiznow, who has developed into an important stallion, siring such major runners as champion Folklore, Gr1 Belmont Stakes winner Da' Tara, Colonel John & Well Armed while standing at WinStar Farm in Kentucky". On the track, Cee's Tizzy won or placed in 5 of 6 starts (including 3rd in the 1990 Gr1 Super Derby). He has subsequently sired 39 stakes-winner & the earners of over US$35 million (including other Gr1-winners Gourmet Girl & Cost Of Freedom, plus US$2.8-million earner Budroyale).
