New Era Of Uncertainty In Victoria
Meanwhile Andrew Eddy comments in The Age this morning: "Thoroughbred racing has weathered quite a few storms in the 9 years since the Racing Victoria Ltd board became the controlling body of racing. But just how long can the RVL board survive in its present state?" Eddy notes: "Early this afternoon, Victorian racing will enter a new era of uncertainty when Michael Duffy is re-elected for a second term as RVL chairman following this morning's annual general meeting. While Duffy & his fellow directors have plans of their own for the next 3-year term, so does the new Liberal racing minister Denis Napthine. Problem is, the board's plans for the future hardly match up with those of the minister."
