Fantastic Light Adds French Black-Type

Friday, 10th December 2010

Also in France, European 2001 Horse-Of-The-Year & 6-time Gr1-winning former Darley shuttler Fantastic Light (Rahy-Jood, by Nijinsky) added a black-type success when 4YO gelding Livandar (Fantastic Light-Luna Caerla, by Caerleon) finished fast from back in the field to score by a head in the €52,000 (A$72,000) Listed Prix Lyphard (1900m) at Deauville. Livandar (ridden by Ronan Thomas for trainer Philippe Van de Poele) defeated Irish-bred 5YO gelding Le Roi Mage (City On A Hill-Lycius Girl, by Lycius) & UK-bred 4YO mare Lake Palace (Nayef-Lia, by Desert King). Livandar was a €7,000 (A$9,700) 2YO at the 2008 Arqana November Sale. Overall she now has 7 wins & 5 placings (including April's Listed Prix Servanne over 1200m at Chantilly) from 17 starts for €120,217 (A$166,000) earnings.
