Malpensa Wins Argentina Gr1 Mansilla

In South America, former Coolmore shuttler Orpen (Lure-Bonita Francita, by Devil's Bag) added a Gr1 triumph when 4YO mare Malpensa (Orpen-Marsella, by Southern Halo) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in Argentina's Gr1 Gran Premio Copa De Plata-Arquitecto Roberto Vasquez Mansilla (2000m on turf) for fillies & mares at San Isidro in Buenos Aires. Malpensa (ridden by Adrian Giannetti for trainer Juan Udaondo) defeated 3YO filly Catch The Mad (Catcher In The Rye-Crazy Wells, by Poliglote) & 5YO mare Ollagua (Pure Prize-Open Secrets, by West By West). Malpensa took her record to 3 wins & 8 placings (including October's Gr2 Clasico Los Haras over 2000m at San Isidro, June's Gr1 Gran Premio Estrellas Distaff over 2000m at Palermo, May's Gr1 Gran Premio Criadores over 2000m at Palermo, April's Gr1 Gran Premio Gilberto Lerena over 2000m at Palermo & January's Gr3 Apertura-Copa Diario La Nacion over 2000m at Palermo, plus 2009's Gr1 Gran Premio De Potrancas over 1600m at San Isidro, Gr1 Gran Premio Eliseo Ramirez over 1400m at San Isidro & Gr1 Gran Premio Saturnino Unzue over 1200m at Palermo) from 14 starts.
