1st Stakes-Winner For Freshman Sire Silver Train

Also in Italy overnight, US dual Gr1-winning 8YO freshman stallion Silver Train (Old Trieste-Ridden Inthe Stars, by Cormorant) recorded his 1st stakes-winner when US-bred juvenile colt Silver Ocean (Silver Train-Endless Sea, by Mt Livermore) scored a 2.75-lengths victory in the €61,600 (A$85,000) Listed Criterium Di Pisa (1500m) for 2YOs at Pisa. Silver Ocean (ridden by Cristian Demuro for trainer Mick Quinlan) defeated fellow colt Master Fitz (Philomatheia-Law Stone, by Sikeston) & UK-bred filly Red Roof (Statue Of Liberty-Khyber Knight, by Night Shift). Silver Ocean was a US$60,000 weanling at the 2008 Keeneland November Sale & subsequently a €26,000 (A$36,000) 2YO at this year's Goffs March Sale. Overall he now has 2 wins & 2 placings from 5 starts. His sire Silver Train (who will stand in 2011 for US$7,500 at Vinery in Kentucky) won the US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Sprint, US Gr1 Metropolitan Handicap & US Gr2 Jerome Handicap.
