Monday, 13th December 2010

Former Arrowfield Stud shuttler Orientate (Mt Livermore-Dream Team, by Cox's Ridge) added a black-type success (& 20th individual stakes-winner world-wide) when 6YO mare Beyonce's Star (Orientate-Concert Star, by Pompeii Court) scored by a long-neck in the $80,000 Listed Just Now Handicap (1300m) for fillies & mares at Eagle Farm. Beyonce's Star (ridden by Chris Munce for trainer Brian Guy) defeated 4YO mare Irish Dream (Falbrav-Queen Emma, by Irish River) & fellow 6YO mare Acquired (O'Reilly-Procure, by Centaine). Beyonce's Star (originally a $50,000 yearling at the 2006 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney & most recently purchased by Raheen Stud's Nolan family for $40,000 at June's Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale) was having her final start & now retires (already in-foal to Glenlogan Park Stud's 4-time Gr1-winning stallion Show A Heart) with 5 wins & 22 placings (including June's Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic over 1350m at Ipswich) from 43 starts for $296,910 earnings.
