US Hall-Of-Fame Trainer Mack Miller Dies Aged 89

US Hall-Of-Fame trainer MacKenzie "Mack" Miller (who saddled 1993 Kentucky Derby winner Sea Hero) died at the University Of Kentucky's Markey Cancer Center aged 89. Miller (who recorded his initial winner in 1950 & retired in 1995) trained 72 stakes-winners during his 46-year career, including Leallah (1966 champion 2YO filly), Assagai (1966 champion turf horse), Hawaii (1969 champion turf horse) & Snow Knight (1975 champion turf horse). Miller also conditioned Gr1 stars Java Gold (whom he considered his best runner), Winter's Tale & Fit To Fight, as well as leading stallion Red Ransom. As an owner-breeder Miller co-bred De La Rose (1981 champion turf mare) & Chilukki (1999 champion 2YO filly).
