French Guineas Winner Silver Frost Retired To Stud
In France, Irish-bred 4YO stallion Silver Frost (Verglas-Hidden Silver, by Anabaa) who won last year's French Gr1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains (2000 Guineas) "has been retired to Haras de la Hetraie where he will stand for €6,000 (A$8,300)" reported racingpost.com. Agent Ghislain Bozo (who handled the deal) confirmed: "He has been purchased by a syndicate of breeders from France, the UK & Ireland & they are all going to support him long-term, which is good news." Silver Frost was a €95,000 (A$131,000) yearling at the 2007 Deauville August sale & retires with 7 wins (also including both 2009's Gr3 Prix De FontainBleau & Listed Prix Omnium II, plus 2008's Gr3 Prix Thomas Bryon & Gr3 Prix De Cabourg) & 4 placings (including July's Gr3 Prix Messidor & 2008's Gr1 Criterium International) from 16 starts for £405,305 (A$648,000) earnings.
