Giant's Causeway Adds US Black-Type

Tuesday, 14th December 2010

In the US, former Coolmore shuttler Giant's Causeway (Storm Cat-Mariah's Storm, by Rahy) added a US black-type success when favoured daughter Quiet Giant (Giant's Causeway-Quiet Dance, by Quiet American) blitzed her rivals by 8.75-lengths in the US$60,000 Listed Cheap Seats Stakes (8 furlongs) for 3YO fillies at Aqueduct in New York. Quiet Giant (ridden by John Velazquez for trainer Todd Pletcher) defeated front-running Malibu Legacy (Malibu Moon-Lady's Legacy, by Matchlite) & Indian Burn (Indian Charlie-Christmas Affair, by Black Tie Affair). Quiet Giant (a half-sister to 2005 US Horse-Of-The-Year Saint Liam) now has 3 wins & a runner-up (in October's Polly's Jet Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Delaware Park) from 6 starts for US$97,050 earnings.
