Owners Say Racing Vic "Fiddles While $8.5m Burns"
The headline on the latest broadside fired at Racing Victoria by the Victorian Thoroughbred Racehorse Owners Association declares bluntly: "RVL Fiddles Around While $8.5m Burns - Owners Say Don't Wait For Product Fee Price Rise & Call for Independence & Transparency For Proposed RVL Report." TROA chairman Andrew Lafontaine questioned the independence & transparency of the new "independent" study in relation to Racefields Product Fees being commissioned by Racing Victoria & also claimed the industry "will lose the opportunity to earn an extra $8.5 million over the next 6 months (the anticipated time the report will take to play out) because RV has left the product fee at its existing low price while it undertakes the new study".
