12th Winner For UK Freshman Sire Byron

In the UK, multiple Gr2-winning & Gr1-placed 9YO freshman sire Byron (Green Desert-Gay Gallanta, by Woodman) recorded his 12th 1st-crop winner when Irish-bred 2YO gelding Bassett Road (Byron-Topiary, by Selkirk) scored over 7 furlong at Wolverhampton. Bassett Road was a €58,000 (A$80,000) weanling at the 2008 Goffs November Sale, then a 5,500 guineas (A$9,100) weanling at the 2008 Tattersalls October Sale & finally an 11,000 guineas (A$18,200) 2YO at this year's Tattersalls July Horses-In-Training Sale.
