Gr1-Winner Cima De Triomphe Retired To French Stud

In France, Gr1 Italian Derby-winning 5YO stallion Cima De Triomphe (Galileo-Sopran Londa, by Danehill) "will begin his stallion career in 2011 at Haras du Thenney in Normandy" at a €3,000 (A$4,100) fee, reported racingpost.com. Irish-bred Cima De Triomphe (who carried the silks of Japan's Shadai Farm owner Teruya Yoshida) came to Australia for the 2009 Melbourne Spring Carnival (when trained by Luca Cumani) & finished 13th of 18 runners in the Gr1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) won by Viewed. Overall he recorded 7 wins (including Italy's Gr1 Derby Italiano over 2200m at Capannelle, the UK Gr3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes over 10 furlongs at Sandown Park & both Italy's Listed Premio Emanuele Filiberto over 2000m at San Siro & Listed Premio Del Giubileo over 1600m at San Siro) & 3 placings (including Italy's Gr3 Premio Federico Tesio over 2200m at San Siro & Listed Premio Campobello over 1800m at San Siro) from 23 starts for £529,112 (A$847,000) earnings.
