So You Think Leaves Aust Today

Tuesday, 21st December 2010

Multiple Gr1-winning boom 4YO entire & Australia's highest-rated galloper So You Think (High Chaparral-Triassic, by Tights) "will today leave the heat of an Australian summer" on a 24-hour flight to Europe "to plunge into the coldest winter that snow-bound Ireland has experienced in years" reported The Daily Telegraph. So You Think "will swap lush spelling paddocks" at Coolmore Stud's NSW Hunter Valley property "for subzero conditions, heat lamps & heavy rugs at new trainer Aidan O'Brien's Ballydoyle stables" in Ireland as he prepares "for a European race campaign that could culminate in a bid to win the world's most prestigious race, the Gr1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in France in October". Coolmore Australia's business & racing manager Tom Magnier commented last night: "We see this as a great opportunity for So You Think to showcase his talents to the world. The racing world is well aware of the brilliance of the Australasian sprinters, but to produce a middle-distance horse capable of successfully competing on the world stage, as we believe So You Think can, would serve as a huge boost to the Australasian racing & breeding industry. So You Think is going to the same place where his father High Chaparral was trained to be a world champion. We are hopeful So You Think can also prove he is a world champion next year." Trainer Aidan O'Brien "will set So You Think for the Royal Ascot carnival in England" & provided So You Think strikes his best form, he will then be aimed at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (2400m).
