Danetime Adds UAE Gr2

Friday, 21st January 2011

In the United Arab Emirates overnight, ill-fated former WA-based Alwyn Park Stud shuttler Danetime (Danehill-Allegheny River, by Lear Fan) added a group success when Godolphin's Irish-bred 5YO mare Aspectoflove (Danetime-Rose Vibert, by Caerleon) returned from a 3-months spell to win the US$200,000 Gr2 Cape Verdi Stakes (1600m) for fillies & mares at Meydan in Dubai, to improve on his 2nd-placing in this same race last year. Aspectoflove (ridden by Frankie Dettori for trainer Saeed Bin Suroor) defeated Irish-bred 4YO mare Thai Haku (Oasis Dream-Coconut Show, by Linamix) & South African-bred 7YO mare River Jetez (Jet Master-Stormsvlei, by Prince Florimund). Aspectoflove was a €24,000 (A$31,000) weanling at the 2006 Goffs November Sale & later a 31,000 guineas (A$50,000) yearling at the 2007 Doncaster August Sale; overall she now has 7 wins (also including 2010’s UK Listed Fleur De Lys Fillies Stakes over 8 furlongs at Lingfield Park & UK Listed Rosemary Stakes over 8 furlongs at Ascot, plus 2009’s Irish Listed Garnet Stakes over 8 furlongs at Naas) & 5 placings (including 2010’s Italian Gr3 Premio Sergio Cumani over 1600m at San Siro, UAE Gr3 Cape Verdi Stakes over 1600m at Meydan & UAE Listed Balanchine Stakes over 1800m at Meydan) from 20 starts.
